Watermark Image

An image watermarking tool stamps text — your name, logo text, a copyright notice — onto an image with full control over font size, color, opacity, and position. VisualDocs renders the watermark directly onto the image via Canvas, with nine position options and a tile mode that repeats the watermark across the whole image at a custom angle.

Watermarking is how photographers protect client proofs, illustrators brand work shared on social, and e-commerce sellers add copyright notices to product shots before listing on marketplaces. The tile mode is especially effective for proof images: a dense, angled, tiled watermark at 30 to 50 percent opacity is very difficult to remove, even for determined users with editing tools who want to strip the mark.

Output is always PNG, so there is no additional JPEG re-compression — quality is preserved exactly as the source. The tool supports batch processing, so you can watermark multiple images at once with identical settings, which is ideal for product catalogs and photo galleries where consistency across all images matters.

The watermark is composited onto the image through the Canvas globalAlpha and fillText APIs, which means the opacity control produces true alpha blending rather than a flat color approximation, so a 30 percent watermark reads correctly over both light and dark regions of the same photograph. Tile mode calculates a repeating grid of watermark instances rotated at your chosen angle and stamps them across the entire canvas, making it computationally expensive on very large images but producing a pattern that cannot be removed by cropping a single corner. Because the output is PNG, the watermarked file preserves full color depth and any transparency from the original, so watermarking a transparent PNG logo keeps the alpha channel intact alongside the added text layer.
