Copyright Statement

VisualDocs respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of our website and tools to do the same. This DMCA Policy outlines the process for reporting copyright infringement and our procedures for handling such reports in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) of 1998.

Filing a DMCA Notice

If you believe that content on VisualDocs infringes your copyright, you may submit a DMCA takedown notice. Your notice must include all of the following information to be valid under the DMCA. Incomplete notices may be rejected, so please ensure you provide all required details.

  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (include URLs or specific location on our site)
  • Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, including its URL or location on visualdocs.app
  • Your contact information: name, address, telephone number, and email address
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
  • A statement made under penalty of perjury that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner

Where to Send DMCA Notices

Send your DMCA takedown notice to our designated copyright agent. We will review your notice and respond within the timeframe required by the DMCA. To help us process your request quickly, include "DMCA Takedown Notice" in the subject line of your email.

  • Email: dmca@visualdocs.app
  • Subject line: DMCA Takedown Notice
  • Response time: Within 3 business days of receipt
  • Please do not send unrelated inquiries to this address

Counter-Notification

If you believe that your content was removed from VisualDocs due to a mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notification. A valid counter-notification must include the following information, and we will forward it to the original complainant.

  • Your physical or electronic signature
  • Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification
  • Your name, address, telephone number, and email address
  • A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or if your address is outside the United States, any judicial district in which VisualDocs may be found)
  • A statement that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original DMCA notice

Repeat Infringer Policy

In accordance with the DMCA, VisualDocs maintains a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat copyright infringers. We also reserve the right to remove infringing content immediately and without prior notice when we have clear evidence of infringement.

False Claims Warning

Filing a false DMCA notice is a serious matter. Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be subject to liability. Do not file a DMCA notice unless you have a genuine good faith belief that the content infringes your copyright.

Processing Timeline

Upon receiving a valid DMCA notice, we will promptly remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material and notify the user who posted it. If a counter-notification is received, we will forward it to the original complainant and may restore the material within 10 to 14 business days unless the complainant files a court action seeking to restrain the user from the infringing activity.
